Twitter Data Leak Results In Over 200 Million Users' Emails Compromised

Today, Over 200 Million Twitter user accounts are at risk and have been compromised over data leakage posted for free by malicious internet hackers. It composed a total of 63GB of data containing personal information, emails, and identities of individuals. This is not the first time that has happened to Twitter since a breach of consumer information also occurred in 2022, which said to be the continuation of today's data breach.

Ireland's Data Protection Commission watchdogs say that they will keep a close eye on Elon Musk's company since Twitter already patched this vulnerability in January 2022, yet, a number of cyber hackers still recently started to distribute the data sets they obtained over a year ago for free. Attackers have now created a comprehensivedatabase using the earlier leak, deleted duplicates, and produced a more precise but smaller database. Account users are not merely surprised to hear the news since they have known long before that Twitter is likely to be hacked.

With Facebook's parent company, Meta, being fined $277 Million by Ireland's data protection authorities last few weeks, Twitter should keep a keen eye to their security system. Users should also be more watchful to avoid targeted phishing attacks aiming to steal their passwords or other personal information.
