Eastern Connecticut Health Network's computer system is down due to a cyberattack, according to Waterbury HEALTH.

Eastern Connecticut Health Network and Waterbury HEALTH computer systems were down on Thursday, and ECHN believes there was a hack.

During the outage, ECHN is redirecting patients from its hospital emergency departments, while Waterbury Hospital is using paper records.

According to a notice on the ECHN website, all Prospect Medical Holdings facilities are experiencing IT issues, which are affecting several ECHN sites.

Prospect Medical Holdings is a Los Angeles-based firm that owns and operates 16 hospitals in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Southern California, as well as a network of more than 165 outpatient facilities and clinics.

Both ECHN and Waterbury HEALTH are related.

The FBI stated that it is looking into cyber ransomware attacks on several local medical facilities.

"The FBI's New Haven Field Office is investigating cyber ransomware in some local medical facilities." To address the issues, we are collaborating closely with law enforcement partners and victim entities.
