Steven King, 45, from Florida, who works for a prominent pharmacy holding company, has been convicted of orchestrating a massive Medicare fraud scheme, resulting in a staggering $50 million loss to the government and compromised patient care.
The Federal jury found Steven King guilty of participating in a complex and deceitful scheme that exploited the Medicare system for personal gain. His co-conspirators operated A1C Holdings LLC, which held pharmacies in various states, including All American Medical Pharmacy in Warren, Michigan. The scheme involved fraudulent billing practices, false claims, and the submission of misleading documentation to Medicare, prescriptions and refills on behalf of its pharmacies for medically unnecessary lidocaine and diabetic testing supplies, manipulated billing records, overstated the severity of patient conditions, and billed for services that were never rendered. His sentencing is scheduled for 14 September, and he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
The successful conviction of King in this $50 million Medicare fraud serves as a stark reminder that no individual or position is above the law
